In all my restrospect that is possible, it really was the first great handheld.

Equivalent to that of a book by modality and accessibility.

Physical special split, insane worldbuilding and gameplay, insane storyline. Goated starters, and a goated 7th gym if u had to work around having Blaziken. Don't even get me started on the Rayquaza cutscene.

I'd say it's tied with explorers of time for best pokemon game to date, and i started with platinum.
